The report presents an investigation of the flow of air-water mixtures through mixing channels. The three channels investigated were two-dimensional models of one segment of a typical mixing chamber. Thrust characteristics for the channels were predicted from a simplified individual bubble analysis,void fraction traverses,and void and pitot pressure traverses and compared with those obtained by direct measurement. The validity and interpretation of void and pitot measurements is discussed and typical distributions presented. A design condition for the mixers and a local momentum coefficient for use in two phase flow propulsor design are suggested. (Author)
