Microwave Techniques for Imaging Objects Buried Below the Surface of the Ground.

Microwave imaging of buried objects was demonstrated. Laboratory apparatus,an approximate theory for scattering,and two methods for imaging were developed. Properties of antennas near the soil were investigated. Images were formed by optical reconstruction from detour phase holograms and by Fourier transformation based on the angular spectrum concept.
