PRELIMINARY DESIGN OF WINGS VolumeⅠ – Design Philosophy

摘要

A philosophy and methodology for performing preliminary designs of wings are presented. The philosophy is to treat each segment of the problem with a different degree of completeness depending upon the present state of the art. Each segment of the preliminary design is made as complete as possible within the constraints of obtaining a reliable and significant solution within a reasonable time. In segments where an analytical philosophy exists, assumptions are made to result in rapid and relatively accurate solutions. In segments where it is not possible to establish analytical solutions, semi-empirical statistical relationships are sought.
