INFLUENCE OF AN ELASTIC PLATE SURFACE IMPEDANCE ON BACKSCATTERED SOUND

摘要

The acoustic pressure field backscattered from the edge of a semi-infinite elastic plate is investigated. Malyuzhinets Theory of Diffraction for wedges with given surface impedances is applied to the derivation of a number of analytic models of the backscattered field. This includes a simplification of the Malyuzhinets wedge functions that has been recently obtained by Dr. E. J. Skudrzyk of ARL/PSU.
