Chemical Vapor Deposition Densification of 3-D Preforms.

摘要

Graphitic materials have been considered to be among the prime candidates for use as nose tips on advanced interceptors. Carbon/carbon composites to be useful engineering materials must be densified after they are woven. The approach used in this program was to densify 3-D carbon/carbon composites by a chemical vapor deposition process after the composites had been initially rigidized with pitch or resin. In the report the densification procedures used,summary of results,and preliminary conclusions are reported.
