For application to the proposed laser guided Honest John Missile barometric fuze system,specially designed probes to measure the undisturbed free-stream ambient pressure were mounted forward of the nose of a full-scale model of the missile forward section and tested in the Naval Ship Research and Development Center's 7x10ft transonic wind tunnel facility at Mach numbers 0.90to 1.15and at an approximately constant Reynolds number per foot of 1.92million,the latter corresponding to an altitude of approximately 40,000ft. Test data was obtained for the after body angle of attack range 0to 10degrees with 0and plus or minus 5degree canard deflections. (Modified author abstract)
