Detailed study of the reaction of hexafluorobut-2-yne with tricarbonyl(chloro)cyclopentadienylmolybdenum in hexane solution revealed that if higher relative concentrations of the tricarbonyl complex were used in a sealed tube then the main product is a cyclopentadienone complex.
