The Design Of A Study To Investigate the Reliability Of Preventive Maintenance Standard Times

In order to effectively measure craft performance, issue schedules, and identify tmnpower requirements for Preventive Maintenance, a reliable standard time data base must be established. To meet program implementation due dates, the PM Office with the assistance of various craft foremen have developed maintenance standards based on estimates. Now that the implementation phase of the program is complete, primary attention will be focused on the accuracy of the estimated standards.nSeveral techniques are available that could be employed to insure the accuracy of PM standards. Methods-Time-Measurement (MTM), published standard data, comprehensive time studies, et.al are indeed appropriate. However, the use of such methods is limited due to the available resources in the PM Office and Management Engineering.
