摘要

A novel selectively-modulated interferometric dispersive spectrometer (SEMIDS) for UV-Visible atomic and molecular spectrometry has been constructed and evaluated. SEMIDS consists of a Michelson interferometer in which the stationary mirror has been replaced with a rotating grating. The oscillating mirror modulates only those wavelengths which are diffracted by the grating in a direction perpendicular to the mirror-detector optical axis. SEMIDS is shown to have excellent stability, linear response, an increasing signal-to-noise ratio with decreasing analyte concentration (in atomic emission flame spectrometry), and a near theoretical resolution for any aperture. Some initial studies involving measurement of flame emission (air/C2H2 flame) are presented. (Author)
