Impact of Computer-Based Instruction on Attitudes of Students and Instructors: A Review.

The review examines the evidence which bears on the issue of whether contact with computer-based instruction leads to feelings of depersonalization or dehumanization. The approach is to document investigations which employ the larger construct of attitudes toward various modes of computer-based instruction which are found to be held by students and instructors before, during, or after exposure to computer-based instruction. Evaluation of pertinent factors which influence attitudes was made through an assessment of relevant literature and personal communication with experts associated with several CAI and CMI projects in the United States.
