The Feasibility of Short Interval Time Estimation as a Methodology to Forecast Human Performance of a Specified Task.

This paper proposes and initiates the testing of the hypothesis which states: 'An estimate of a short interval of time will indicate one's ability to perform a specified task relative to his ability to perform this same task at other points in time throughout the day'. The investigation includes a survey of previous time estimation research and other related chronobiologic studies. It examines the interval estimation - task performance relationship by correlating two short intervals of time with performance of a letter cancellation task.
