摘要

Blast-induced casualties and fatalities have increased at an alarming rate in recent years. Fuel convoys have become a major target for insurgency efforts. A Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicle (MRAP) is 4-6 times the weight of the High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) and consumes twice as much fuel. The objective of this research has been the optimization of ground vehicle design to minimize casualties from blast events and from fuel convoy exposure.
