Angiostrongylus Cantonensis in Rats on Makung, Pescadores Islands (Peng Hu).

The rat lung worm, Angiostrongylus cantonensis, occurs in a number of species of rats on Taiwan and its off-shore islands, but has not previously been reported from the Pescadores Islands. The lungs of a total of 7 Rattus norvegicus and 14 R. rattus rufescens were examined and A. contonensis was recovered from 5 Rattus norvegicus from Kung-pei-shan and 2 R.r rufescens from Ching-an. Sections of adult worms egg and larval stages of the parasite were found throughout the lung tissue.
