摘要

Selective excitation of rotational and vibrational levels of formaldehyde, H2CO (A-bar 1A2) state has been achieved by finely tuned laser excitation for a mechanistic study of radiationless transitions. Fluorescence from rotational lines perturbed by singlet-triplet mixing and coriolis coupling is used as diagnotics. The singlet excited state eventually decays to the ground state and the triplet state is unreactive. New ways to populate the non-optical state as well as to study the intramolecular energy migration are found. (Author)
