Oxidative addition of 7-8- and 7-9-C2B9H12(-) to P(C6H5)3RuHCl have yielded novel dihydrido-ruthenium complexes 3-1-2- and 2-1-7-(P(C6H5)3)RuH2C2B9H11 respectively; the latter's stCucture has been confirmed by x-ray diffraction study and it has been found to reversibly eliminate its hydride ligands as H2 upon heating in vacuum.
