摘要

The application of a wide, flush inlet on a water-jet-propelled craft was investigated to determine performance gains from using primarily low momentum boundary layer flow for producing the propulsion jet. A method of predicting the boundary layer conditions, the pump size, and the overall water-jet system performance is given. Improvement in overall system efficiency or propulsive coefficient of 10% to 12% over conventional flush inlets is predicted for a planing craft application. (Author)
