摘要

A polyatomic chemical laser has been discovered. The laser species, hydrogen cyanide, is formed chemically by the elementary bimolecular reaction of cyanide radicals with molecular hydrogen. Analysis of the gains of lasing transitions shows that a substantial fraction of the reaction exoergicity (ca. 50%) is channeled into C-H stretch excitation of the HCN product. (Author)
