Dissociation of Hyperdipsia from the Destruction of the Locus Coeruleus in Rats.

摘要

Discrete bilateral lesions of the nucleus locus coeruleus depleted cortical norepinephrine by an average of 82%, but did not result in mortalities or reliable evidence of hyperdipsia or urinary dysfunction. Lesion size and placement are important methodological variables in the study of locus coeruleus function. (Author)
