摘要

A common paradigm in psychology involves presenting subjects with sets of multi-cue profiles, and requiring responses based on the information in each profile. One characteristic of this paradigm is its analog nature. Subjects deal with sheets of paper supposedly representing real people; but the people represented are often completely unknown to the subjects. This paper-people method is frequently used to investigate the employment interview. But if subjects respond differently to paper people than to real people, the method may be inappropriate for studying interviewer behavior. The primary purpose of this study was to examine the responses of subjects to both real and paper people. A secondary purpose concerned investigation of the incremental validity of the interview.
