Time to Fire: The Semiautomatic Pistol Versus the Revolver.

摘要

This study analyzed the time to first-round-fired for selected personal-defense weapons and investigated associated problems. The findings reveal the revolver can be brought into action and fired significantly faster than the semiautomatic. The single-action M1911A1 can be fired as quickly from an empty-chamber condition as from a prechambered condition. The service-type holster accounts for 60 percent of the total mean time-to-fire.
