摘要

In recent years the Army has improved tactical collective training through engagement simulation--through the simulation of weapons signatures and weapons effects and the realistic and credible assessment of casualties. Simple, but effective, low cost casualty assessment techniques have been successfully employed in conducting engagement simulation training up to the reinforced platoon level. In order to achieve tactical realism at higher unit levels, the development of a Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System (MILES) has been initiated to provide eye-safe lasers for simulating weapons effects. The objective of this project is to develop a training program and evaluation model for engagement simulation to be used with the MILES hardware in an Army Training and Evaluation Program (ARTEP) context.
