摘要

A two-dimensional thermal analysis of laser-irradiated HgCdTe photovoltaic (PV) detectors is presented, and irreversible damage thresholds are determined as a function of irradiation time and beam diameter. Damage thresholds were measured experimentally for HgCdTe crystals similar in size and mounting to those used in operating photovoltaic detectors. Calculated thresholds for HgCdTe PV detectors are compared to those for HgCdTe photoconductive (PC) and PbSnTe PV detectors.
