摘要

The use of UOP platinum impregnated Kocite materials as low-cost air and/or fuel electrocatalysts in phosphoric acid electrolyte fuel cells has been optimized with respect to some of the electrocatalyst and electrode structure parameters. Kocite materials are composite structures consisting of pyropolymers chemically bonded to refractory substrates. Fuel cell electrodes were fabricated from these materials and tested as anodes or cathodes in model fuel cells with Teflon-bonded platinum-black counter electrodes.
