Cathodic Protection Design for Brackish Water Systems:Fresh Water Bayou Lock.

摘要

This report presents design guidance for cathodic protection systems for hydraulic structures used by the Corps of Engineers in navigational lock systems. The guidance is designed for structures subjected to extreme variations in water conductivity and moderate to severe stochastic loads induced by gate movement, turbulence, etc. The guidance is based on a cathodic protection system design developed for the Fresh Water Bayou Lock in the Intracoastal Waterway System. The guidance includes selection of the types of systems which can be used in waters having specific salinity ranges and procedures for determining the number of anodes required and their optimum placement.
