Motion of a Vortex Blotch.

摘要

An equation for invariant curves in the motion of a vortex blotch it derived. Kirchhoff's elliptical vortex is shown to satisfy the equation exactly. It is also found that perturbations to a circular vortex are invariant configurations to the (third) order of approximation calculated.
