Recent Sponges, Molluscs, and Echinoderms in Sediment Cores from the Central Arctic Ocean.

Some 16 taxa of invertebrates have been recovered from the top three centimeters of cores in the central Arctic Ocean (Alpha Cordillera-Canada Basin). Holothurians are most widely distributed. Relationship of sediment type and mollusc taxa is apparent. Carbonate compensation layer may not be important in the Arctic.
