摘要

Singular perturbation methods have recently provided new techniques for optimal control and stability problems. Their primary advantage is the order reduction adhieved when small parameters are set equal to zero. The authors present an approach for identifying small parameters by separating slow and fast modes. A computational procedure is developed for simple linear systems and tested numerically. Connections to current engineering literature is stressed. (Author)
