摘要

A pulsed optical rubidium frequency standard has been constructed with the intent of investigating long-term frequency stability in the absence of light shifts. The short-term frequency stability of this device has been measured and found to be sigma sub Y = 2 time 10 to the -11th power (sq. rt. tau) for tau 1 to 100 sec. Measurements of the long-term frequency stability of this device (24 hour averaging time) show that sigma sub Y is of order parts in 10 to the 12th power, or better.
