摘要

High speed impact of an object on solid media is a complicated phenomena which is influenced by variables such as material properties, impact velocity, projectile shape, target support position and relative dimensions of the target and projectile. This research has concentrated on a class of impact problems whose angle of impact is so shallow that the target impact disturbance might be considered as a surface wave problem. Most of research effort was spent in doing nonlinear material problems. The theoretical background for the pressure distribution developed during impact is given in the last chapter. Unfortunately no 'numerical experiments' were performed to verify the theory presented. (Author)
