摘要

It is proposed that CaBP may associate with intracellular membranes and organelles to prevent intracellular calcium accumulation and the potential cytotoxic effects of such accumulation. In support of this hypothesis, the amount of mitochondrial mineralization in chick intestinal cells was markedly increased by 1,25(OH)2D3 treatment when CaBP synthesis was simultaneously blocked by cycloheximide treatment. Mineral in membrane vesicles was increased by 1,25(OH)2D3 treatment when CaBP synthesis was simultaneously blocked by cycloheximide treatment. Mineral in membrane vesicles was increased by 1,25(OH)2D3 treatment, but was blocked by simultaneous treatment with cycloheximide.
