摘要

Our 1978 review of the tin structural literature reveals many examples of axially-most electronegative, trigonal bipyramidal triorganotin moieties in associated polymer chains, but the structure of trimethyltin azide is unique in consisting of SnC3 moieties in alternating (CH3) 3 Sn(delta +) cationic and N3(CH3)3SnN3 (delta -) aniotic environments in a one-dimensional array with the tin atoms bridged at unequal distances by the alpha-nitrogen atoms of the azide group at which site the chains are bent.
