摘要

The objective of the study was to identify design concepts for the possible construction of a miniature, lightweight (10-lb), dry-monitoring system for nerve agents (V and G), mustard, and lewisite. The specific design concepts having potential for meeting the Joint Services Operational Requirements (JSOR) are the following: (1) GC/mass spectrometer; (2) opto-acoustic spectrometer; (3) laser intracavity absorption system; (4) GC/flame photometric detector system; (5) Fourier transform infrared system; (6) GC/alkali flame-ionization detection system; (7) microwave absorption spectrometer; (8) laser resonance raman spectrometer; (9) GC/photoionization detector; and (10) enzyme inhibition detector. The Ion Mobility Spectrometer (IMS) concept was not evaluated in this study since it is already under development. (Author)
