TWCP Electron Beam Testing Program. Volume II. Preliminary Characterization of the Blackjack III Pulsed Electron Beam for Material Response Studies

This volume describes the preliminary characterization of the Maxwell Laboratory Blackjack III pulsed electron beam facility as to energy spectrum, depth-dose profiles and fluence levels and uniformity. These tests were conducted preparatory to obtaining impulse and stress generation data on FM5822A carbon phenolic, and 91-LD phenolic resin. These tests demonstrated the capabilities of the Blackjack III facility for material response studies for peak electron energies of 0.7 to 1.0-MeV with fluence levels less than 200 cal/sq cm.
