The Effects of Hydrostatic Pressure on Synthetic-Rope Buoyancy in Fresh and Salt Water

Tests were conducted to determine the effect of hydrostatic pressure on the buoyancy of a large diameter synthetic rope. This report presents the results of those tests and discusses their meaning in terms of the compressibility effects of the rope material and the deep ocean environment. (Author)
