On the Use of Simulation in the Design and Implementation of Distributed Systems

The need for planning and design of distributed systems has been stressed repeatedly. However, insufficient attention has been directed at the organized employment of mathematical and statistical tools which are computer based. Developed here is a general methodology for planning distributed systems using simulation as the major ingredient. Applications of the methodology are discussed. (Author)
