摘要

An image field theory of surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy is used to study the dependence of Raman intensities on light frequency, nature of adsorbate and metal, electrode potential, scattering angle and light polarization. Although the image field enhancement (IFE) theory is at best a crude approximation to the true enhancement mechanism, it does find quite reasonable agreement between the IFE predictions and most existing experimental results.
