Experimental Determination of Two Components of Field Point Velocities Around a Model Propeller in Uniform and Inclined Flow

Measurements of two component velocity profiles were taken around model propellers, utilizing a laser doppler anemometer. Measurements were made with the propeller shaft parallel to the flow and at 20 degrees to the incoming flow. Both time averaged and blade angular-position-dependent data are presented in a manner that will aid in the evaluation of the various predictive theories of field point velocities around properties.
