Analytic Methods for the Approximate Solution of Singularly Perturbed Systems

This presentation surveys the singular perturbation technique for initial value problems for large systems of ordinary differential equations. A decoupling transformation to separate fast from slow modes of unforced systems is introduced, and approximations based on the singular perturbation methodology are developed. (Author)
