摘要

The Automation and Computer Technology Dictionary is the fifth in a series of Chinese-English technical dictionaries but is the second volume produced in the automation and computer technology field. The purpose of the series is to provide rapid reference tools for translators, abstractors, and research analysts concerned with scientific and technical materials from Mainland China. This dictionary will be published in two volumes, containing about 40,000 terms selected from the latest edition of the English-Chinese Glossary of Computer Technology, Peking, 1977; and the English-Chinese Glossary of Automation and Detection Instruments, Peking, 1974. The terms included relate not only to overall design of computer systems, logic design, computer-aided design, storage, data processing, software, machine translation, automation design, automatic control, servosystems, kinematics, remote control, analog machines, simulators, engineering cybernetics, detection instruments, etc., but also incorporate vocabulary from the basic sciences and the auxiliary technologies closely associated with automation and computer science, such as microelectronics, integrated circuit, semiconductors, computational mathematics, chemistry, etc.
