A Method and Apparatus for Boresighting an Aircraft

An apparatus and method for boresighting an aircraft while it is on board an aircraft carrier is disclosed. Strapdown gyro triads are attached to pre-selected points on the aircraft and the item to be boresighted, and an electronics package containing a digital computer transforms the resulting cosine matrices. The operator reads a display and makes the necessary manual adjustments. (Author)
