Simple Algorithms for Calculation of Scale Factors for Plan Coordinate Systems (1927 NAD and 1983 NAD)

This paper presents a hand-held calculator algorithm to compute scale factors for state plane coordinate systems. A second algorithm is presented for digital computers. The algorithms are applicable to any figure of the earth, but this paper addresses Clarke 1866 (NAD 1927) and NAD 1983. (Author)
