摘要

A finite difference Eulerian code, HELP, is employed to study the stress enhancement effects in the vicinity of a crack tip in a rectangular plate which is subjected to a sudden uniaxial loading in the plane strain geometry. The results are in excellent agreement with those obtained from other methods. This demonstrates the usefulness and accuracy of the HELP code in simulating dynamic problems of fracture mechanics.
