Using von Mises' criterion and the Prandtl-Reuss flow theory, numerical solutions are obtained for the stresses, strains, and displacements in an elastic-plastic thick-walled tube subjected to internal pressure and temperature gradient. The material is based on the incremental finite-difference method in conjunction with a scaled loading approach. All incremental quantities are determined in the program and no iteration is needed. The approach is simpler than others yet quite general and accurate. (Author)
