Inverse Sums of Monotone Operators

We show that the inverse image of a point under the sum of two monotone operators in R(n) has a special form if a simple condition is imposed on one of the operators. This result is then applied to characterize the form of the solution set of a monotone linear generalized equation. Some known results are recovered as a special case. (Author)
