Based on a review of available design information and visual observations of conditions as they existed on the date of the field inspection, the general condition of the Glade Run Dam is considered to be good. This assessment is based primarily on visual observations of the embankment and appurtenant structures. Glade Run Dam is an 'intermediate' size, 'high' hazard structure. Corps of Engineers guidelines recommend the Probable Maximum Flood (PMF) as the Spillway Design Flood for an 'intermediate' size, 'high' hazard dam. Glade Run Dam's Spillway Design Flood is the Probable Maximum Flood. Spillway capacity is 'inadequate' because the non-overtopping flood discharge was found, by using the HEC-1 computer program, to be 92 percent of the PMF. The visual inspection indicated several minor deficiencies. The deficiencies can be corrected or improved through implementation of the following recommended remedial and/or maintenance efforts.
