A test program was conducted in the Propulsion Wind Tunnel (16T) to demonstrate the Advanced Flexible Reusable Surface Insulation (AFRSI) joint fix designs adequacy to preclude pre-entry gaps. Representative sections of the AFRSI joints were tested at Mach numbers from 0.40 to 0.88. (Author)
