Some suggestions are made as to some possible areas in which research seems to be needed, in order to understand the chemical and physical processes involved in the thermal decomposition of nitramines generally, and of HMX and RDX in particular. These suggestions are based on a review of the literature on the decomposition of these compounds. (Author)
