Aerosolization Characteristics of Hard Impact Testing of Depleted Uranium Penetrators.

摘要

This report documents the findings of studies to ascertain the amount of depleted uranium (DU) aerosolized by hard impact testing of DU penetrators and characterize the particle size distribution of the aerosol. This study was performed at the request of the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission. It provides data useful in evaluating the potential health hazards to personnel of hard impact testing of DU penetrators.
