摘要

A two part research program was conducted to study the mechanics of creep crack growth in (1) nickel base superalloys as a function of alloy chemistry and test environment at 704 degrees C; (2) a high strength aluminum alloy 2219-T851 at 175 degrees C. The creep crack growth rate data is reported and analyzed in terms of fracture mechanics parameters. The automated test procedures used for the aluminum alloys is discussed in detail in view of the need for standardized testing procedures to measure creep crack growth rates.
