摘要

The Defense Mapping Agency is responsible for the production of Digital Terrain Matrix (DTM) data in support of advanced weapons systems and digital simulation technology. This paper provides a brief historical sketch of the methods used in processing water areas within the DTMs, an evaluation of raster graphics technology with respect to processing these water areas, and the subsequent enhancements made to DTM processing software based upon that evaluation.
